Discounts
Discounts lists every discount code in your store, made in Vanix or in Shopify, with how many times it's been used and how many subscriptions have it.
How codes work with subscriptions
- Renewals count as uses. Uses count checkout orders and renewals together, so a code's usage limit holds across both.
- Used-up codes switch off on their own. When a code reaches its limit, Vanix deactivates it in Shopify.
- Codes made in Shopify are kept in step automatically, and are edited in Shopify. More about Shopify codes
Create a discount
Choose Create discount. A discount made in Vanix works at checkout, and you or your customers can add it to subscriptions.

| Value | A percentage (1 to 100) or a fixed amount. A fixed amount can be taken off each item. |
| Applies to | All items, specific products, or specific collections. Choose whether it covers subscription items, one-time items, or both. |
| Number of orders | How many orders each subscription gets it for. Empty means every order. |
| Usage limit | How many orders it can be used on in total, renewals included. Empty means no limit. |
| Once per customer | Limits each customer to one use. Staff are warned, not stopped. |
| Who it is for | Everyone, specific customers, or customer segments. Checkout only accepts it from those customers. Subscriptions that already have it keep it. |
| Minimum | None, a minimum subtotal, or a minimum quantity of the items it covers. Checked at checkout and before each charge. |
| Start and end | Empty start means now. After the end date, subscriptions lose the code at their next charge. Empty means no end. |
Once subscriptions have used a discount, its value, items and number of orders are locked. To offer something different, make a new discount. You can deactivate, reactivate or delete a discount from the same dialog.
Edit Vanix discounts in Vanix. Changes made to them in Shopify admin are overwritten the next time they're saved in Vanix.
Generate unique codes
On a Vanix discount, Generated codes makes a batch of unique codes that share the discount's settings and limits. That's useful for an influencer, a mailing or a support team. Enter How many, and optionally a prefix: each code is the prefix plus 10 characters.
Large batches carry on if you close the dialog. When a batch is done, download the codes as a CSV.
Codes on subscriptions
Add or remove codes on a subscription from its page. To let customers apply codes themselves, turn on the discount codes rule.
