Products & plans

A subscription plan sets how often a product can be delivered and how much a subscriber saves. Plans are made per product, in Products.

Find a product

Go to Products and search by title, vendor, SKU or tag. Open a product to see its plans, variants and details.

Create a plan

  1. On the product's page, choose Create plan.

  2. Enter a Plan group name. Customers see this on the product page. It starts as "Subscribe & save".

  3. Optionally, enter a Merchant code. It's an internal label only, and is filled in from the name if you leave it blank.

  4. Add the Delivery frequencies you want to offer. For each one, set Deliver every, the Interval (day, week, month or year) and the Discount as a percentage. A line under the list confirms each one, for example "Billed every month at 10% off."

  5. Choose Create plan.

A plan can have up to 20 frequencies, with discounts from 0% to 99%.

Plans on some variants only

On a product with more than one variant, the plan applies to every variant unless you untick Offer on every variant of this product and choose the ones you want. On products with a very large number of variants, this choice can't be changed from Vanix, and saving leaves it as it was.

Edit or delete a plan

Choose Edit on a plan to change it. Vanix warns you before saving a change that:

  • deletes a frequency from the plan,
  • stops offering the plan on some variants, or
  • replaces a discount that isn't a percentage. Plans made elsewhere can use other kinds of discount, and Vanix can only edit percentages.

To stop offering a plan altogether, choose the delete icon beside it. Either way, existing subscriptions are not affected. Only new purchases are.

Tips

  • Use the same frequencies across products you'd like customers to swap between. Swaps that keep the subscription discount, adds on every delivery, and frequency changes all need the new product to have a plan on the customer's own billing frequency.
  • Frequency changes offer what every item has in common. A customer can only switch to a frequency that every item on their subscription offers.
