Vanix admin
Home
Home is the first page you see when you open Vanix. Until your first subscriber it walks you through setup. After that, it shows what needs you today, what's coming up, and how the month is going. Each card links to the page with the detail.
Before your first subscriber
Home shows Storefront setup, the same checklist as in Settings, until all three steps are done. Then it says your store is ready, and lists a few recommended next steps.
If you already have subscribers when you install Vanix, for example because you're moving from another app, Home shows your numbers straight away. Any setup step that isn't done yet stays folded at the top: choose Show steps to see it. While another app's subscription plans are on your store, Home also shows what to do about them. Key numbers
Days are counted in your store's time zone, the one set in Settings.
| Number | What it counts | Opens |
|---|---|---|
| Active subscriptions | Active subscriptions and ones with a failed payment, not paused ones: the number your Vanix plan's limit counts. The bar turns amber at 80% of your limit, and red only once you're over it. | Settings |
| Monthly recurring revenue | MRR now, and its change on the previous 30 days. If you sell in more than one currency, it's your main currency only, and says so. | Analytics |
| Renewals in the next 7 days | Renewals Vanix will charge today and over the next six days, and what they're expected to add up to, from each subscription's total. Paused subscriptions and ones retrying a failed charge aren't included. Amounts in different currencies are shown separately, never converted. "Some excluding tax" means a total hasn't had tax worked out yet. | Subscriptions |
| Recovered this month | Revenue from failed renewals that were paid on a retry, this month so far. It only appears once billing recovery is on, or has recovered something. | Analytics, Churn & recovery |
Needs attention
Things only you can act on, most urgent first, each with a button to where you fix it. When there's nothing, it says Nothing needs your attention. If Vanix couldn't check something just then, it says which, rather than showing it as clear.
| Item | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Subscriptions stopped billing | A renewal failed and nothing will try it again. Billing recovery is off until you turn it on, so until then this happens to every failed renewal. It also happens when retries run out and recovery is set to stop billing and flag it for review. Subscriptions that recovery paused or cancelled aren't included: that's what you chose. | Open the list and sort each one out with the customer. While recovery is off, Turn on recovery sets it up for next time. Billing recovery |
| Customer emails fell back to the shared address | Your own sending domain's DNS records stopped verifying, so emails go from our address until they're back. If setting the domain up didn't finish, it says that instead. | Check the records are still at your DNS host. Your own domain |
| AI insight alerts | Something unusual in the last 24 hours, such as a spike in declined payments or cancellations, or renewals blocked by stock-outs. Alerts stay for a week. | The alert's button opens the setting it's about. AI insights |
| Discount codes ran out this week | Codes that reached their usage limit, which Vanix switched off in Shopify. | Raise the limit to offer them again. Discounts |
| Subscriptions retrying a failed charge | Billing recovery is retrying these on its schedule. | Nothing yet. They move to Stopped billing only if the retries run out. |
Upcoming renewals and recent activity
Upcoming renewals lists the next ten renewals in the same seven days as the number above, soonest first. Choose one to open its subscription. Recent activity shows the latest changes across your store, by you, your customers and Vanix. See all activity opens the full log. Activity
Cancel flow results
Once your cancel flow has finished at least once this month, a line says how many subscribers it kept out of those who tried to cancel. It counts the way the save rate on Analytics does: customers who changed their mind or left the flow aren't counted, and nor are cancellations by staff. If it hasn't kept anyone, the line links to your offers instead.
AI insights digest
Your latest AI insights digest: the period it covers, its headline and its first section. Read the full digest opens the rest on Analytics. It appears once a digest is ready.
Recommended next steps
Optional steps that keep more of your subscription revenue. Each appears until it's done, and the card goes once there's nothing left.
| Step | Done when |
|---|---|
| Turn on billing recovery | Recovery for declined cards is on. Billing recovery |
| Add save offers to your cancel flow | Your cancel flow has at least one offer, or customers can't cancel from their account. Offers |
| Send emails from your own domain | You've added your own domain, even if it's still being verified. Your own domain |
The ✕ beside a step hides it for good. There's no way to bring a hidden step back yet, so only hide one you've decided against.
Your first subscriber
When your first subscriber arrives, Home says who they are and what they subscribed to, with a button to their subscription. It appears only while your store is new, in its first 30 days and with no more than 10 subscriptions, and the ✕ hides it for good.
